Over the course of his career he has built a reputation for providing legal advice to clients in the commercial real estate and property development sectors. With a skill set developed through extensive work with both lenders and borrowers, he has been an involved in numerous high-profile transactions and complex property deals.

His career with several high profile London law firms started in real estate law before soon moving into real estate finance and quickly establishing a strong understanding of the industry’s nuances and clients’ needs. Whether advising institutional lenders, private equity firms, or borrowers, he has demonstrated an ability to commercially navigate the complexities of real estate transactions.

His experience working with both lenders and borrowers has given him a rare insight into both sides of the transactional table. This dual experience is a critical asset to Midian Capital when it comes to structuring deals that benefit clients, reduce risk, and meet financial objectives.

Peter Redelinghuys

Peter holds an M.B.A. from the University of Texas and is a CFA charterholder. With over 25 years of experience in structured finance and real estate, his expertise spans structured loans, derivatives, and mortgage-backed securities. He has held key roles at institutions such as WestLB, Amherst Securities, Standard Bank, Société Générale, and Bank of Montreal, Bank of Montreal, where he specialized in origination structuring, execution and risk management. These roles required in-depth and complex analyses across a broad spectrum of financing transactions.

In the UK, Peter has gained significant experience in real estate-backed lending through his role as a director at a UK-based intermediation and advisory firm focused on bridge and development lending. Additionally, his board position with a Jersey-based investment fund specializing in UK real estate has further enhanced his insights and expertise in this sector.
